Most of the people like to live long but they want without any dependency. It is very difficult to live in elderly stage. Loss of memory, physical fitness problems, diseases surrounds us.
Unfortunately in most cases there is no respect for old age people. Even a at fifty years age also man does understand that he should not insult old age people.
Old age people are not only suffering with physical problems. 80% of them are suffering with irrespective behavior by the youngsters.
In India if you see at any center either village or town you can find old age beggars. No one respect them. No one give them a single rupee. They walk even in summer noon. They sleep on pavements at the winter nights.
Most of the old age beggars are not born beggars. They are becoming beggars when they stepping in the old age. In most cases they are becoming beggars by the irresponsible family members.
Society is also not giving them honor. I saw in city buses how the insulted by conductors and young citizens. Even a young man does not give his seat to an elderly in bus. He does not feel how the old man can stand in the bus while running at a long distance.
An old woman, who sacrifice her entire life to her family is not getting honor after her retirement. Some wise sons and daughters admitting their elderly parents in old age homes. But they do not see how their parents are being treated by the trust organizers.
In some Government hospitals doctors, nurses, ward boys behaves rudely on old age people. They do not give respect and do not show patience to serve their old patients.
Even popular music directors, actors also suffered at their old age with out food and support from society.
Recently a woman won a case against her sons who cheated and occupied her property. But in most cases the old men coming out and becoming beggars or committing subsides. Last year I saw news in TV that an old man burned himself along with his home because of his son’s quarrel about his property.
